The Lifesaver that is a cup of Tea
The scents, the variety, the sheer and pure goodness of a piping hot cup of tea. I swear by tea. I mean even when I went through my I-am-a-sophisticated-univeristy-student-therefore-I-must-drink-extra-large-triple-shot-low-fat-extra-foam-chocolate-topping-hazelnut-cappucinos... nothing could ever beat a good cuppa!
From Darjheeling to English Breakfast, from Russian Earl Grey to Jasmine, fruity to herbal every flavour can be found!
It is now 7am, my son will be back from hia dad's in an hour and a half. Once a week I get to sit in a comfortable chair, stick on some random sit-com and savour my cup of tea. And as an author I have no idea what I'd do without the enticing perfume by my side. It's like a chalice of inspiration! Delicious, sweet inspiration. Of course, having grown up among English people I take my tea with milk and sugar. Of course- like so many others, I choose to ignore the less elegant, less civilized history of the tea leaf... I mean, noone could stomach it if they knew right? Well, actually I doubt anything could dissuade me from it's merits!
But hey, just heard the kettle click. Yay, morning tea time! Finally I can hoist my mind out of bed and start my day as it was meant to start! Ode to the sweet cup of tea! My lifesaver!
